How to choose your first AI workflow
Volume, rules, systems access and measurable outcomes: four tests for picking a workflow that will reach production.

The best first workflow is high-volume, mostly rules-based, already digital and easy to measure. Invoice matching, lead qualification and ticket triage are common examples.
Avoid starting with work that is rare, politically sensitive or impossible to measure. The goal of the first workflow is to prove production value and build trust in the controls.
Define the baseline before you start: people involved, hours per month, turnaround time and error rate. Without a baseline there is no honest outcome.
